Softball Game Preview: Princeton Eagles vs. Williams Yellowjackets

The Princeton Eagles will challenge the Williams Yellowjackets at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Princeton's tournament run continued when they took on Chester on Saturday. Princeton lost 9-1 to Chester. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Williams was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Live Oak, falling 13-0. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Yellowjackets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

This is the second loss in a row for Princeton and nudges their season record down to 3-3-1. As for Williams, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Princeton suffered a grim 25-4 defeat to Williams when the teams last played back in March of 2022. Can Princeton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
