Softball Recap: Pecatonica Comes Up Short

Pecatonica fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Stockton on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Blackhawks by a score of 5-4. The Indians just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Maren Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Sammy Abate was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Chloe Goodwin also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
