Basketball Preview: Western Reserve Academy Pioneers vs. St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish
After 14 games on the road, Western Reserve Academy is heading back home. They will take on the St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Western Reserve Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 59th, while the Fighting Irish are ranked fifth).
Last Monday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Western Reserve Academy beat the Hornets 55-51.
Maya Nahar continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and seven blocks. Another player making a difference was Jadyn Brenneman, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for St. Vincent-St. Mary, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 63-47 loss to the Arcs on Wednesday.
Western Reserve Academy's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for St. Vincent-St. Mary, their defeat ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-4.
