Basketball Game Preview: Westminster Wildcats vs. Pace Academy Knights

The Westminster Wildcats and the Pace Academy Knights will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Westminster will head out to face Pace Academy after giving up their first home loss of the season on Friday. Westminster fell just short of Lovett by a score of 52-50. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wildcats came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Lions are ranked 233rd).

Pace Academy has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were outmatched by Midtown and fell 73-36. The contest marked Pace Academy's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Westminster's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2. As for Pace Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.

Westminster came up short against Pace Academy when the teams last played back in January, falling 74-63. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Pace Academy's Lawson Monroe, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds.
