Volleyball Recap: Elbert County Takes a Loss

Elbert County lost against Madison County two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Blue Devils took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Raiders.

While Elbert County ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-17.

Madison County was led to victory by Sydney Ledford and Cora Beth Strickland. Ledford had nine digs and two assists, while Strickland had two aces and one assist.

Elbert County has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-14 record this season. As for Madison County, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-16.

Elbert County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Monroe Area on the 25th. As for Madison County, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Franklin County at 6:00 p.m.
