Basketball Recap: Beachwood Comes Up Short

Beachwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell 64-57 to the Orange Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-51 back in January.

Alex McCulloch continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Orange, going 10-for-21 to rack up 28 points and eight boards. McCulloch's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Luke Schmotzer was another key player, putting up ten points along with eight rebounds and five assists.

Beachwood's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Orange, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-12 record this season.

Coming up, Beachwood will face off against Andrews Osborne Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Orange, they will host Edgewood at 7:00 p.m. on February 21st. Edgewood has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 185 points over their last three contests.
