Soccer Recap: Cross Keys Comes Up Short

Cross Keys was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 10-0 to the Druid Hills Red Devils. While losing is never fun, the Phoenix can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 294th, while the Red Devils are ranked 97th).

Cross Keys' defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Druid Hills, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Coming up, Cross Keys will venture away from home to take on Clarkston at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cross Keys will be up against Clarkston's rather soft defense (which has allowed six goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Druid Hills, they will host Douglas County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Douglas County's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
