Softball Game Preview: Strath Haven Panthers vs. Conestoga Pioneers

Strath Haven is 0-4 against Conestoga since April of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Panthers will host the Pioneers at 3:45 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

While Strath Haven didn't have the best season last year (they finished 0-4), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Lower Merion on Wednesday as they made off with a 20-5 win. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Conestoga had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-5 margin over the Rams.

Conestoga's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Strath Haven, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

Strath Haven might still be hurting after the 13-4 defeat they got from Conestoga in their previous meeting back in April of 2019. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
