Basketball Recap: Walsh's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Walsh's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Springfield Longhorns as the Walsh Eagles made off with a 55-33 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Walsh found their leader in freshman Hudson Gourley, who went 8 for 12 on his way to 23 points and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gourley has scored all season. Cody Malone was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.

Walsh's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Springfield, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walsh will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] at 5:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025. Springfield will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Cheyenne Wells at 4:00 p.m. on January 11, 2025.
