Football Recap: Bellevue Comes Up Short

The Bellevue Broncos had to suffer through a 53-6 loss at the hands of the Potterville Vikings. The Broncos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bellevue's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Denton, who picked up 154 receiving yards. Denton was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 50 yards. Zain Qahwash was another key player, having thrown for 252 yards and onetouchdown.

Keegan Bennett was nothing short of spectacular for Potterville: he rushed for 204 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Those 204 rushing yards gave Bennett a new career-high.

Bellevue now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Potterville, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Bellevue has already played their next contest, a 38-14 win against St. Philip Catholic Central on the 19th. As for Potterville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 58-20 loss against Montabella on the 19th.
