Basketball Recap: Newman AAA Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Newman AAA entered their tilt with St. Thomas More on Wednesday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured an 87-81 W against the Chancellors. The Cardinals' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Newman AAA's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lucas Morillo, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards. Morillo is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Timmy Bolin, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards.

Newman AAA smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in seven consecutive matchups.
