Basketball Game Preview: North Star Knights vs. Big Sandy Pioneers

The North Star Knights will square off against the Big Sandy Pioneers at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Saturday, North Star came up short against Fort Benton and fell 47-39. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Longhorns: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Big Sandy faced Chester-Joplin-Inverness in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Big Sandy fell 71-63 to Chester-Joplin-Inverness. The Pioneers' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

North Star's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Big Sandy, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 8-2.

North Star was dealt a bruising 71-38 loss at the hands of Big Sandy in their previous matchup back in January. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point North Star was down 33-12.
