Basketball Game Preview: Chaffey Tigers vs. Chino Cowboys

Chaffey is 0-10 against Chino since May of 2021 but things could change on Wednesday. The Chaffey Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Chino Cowboys at 6:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a six-game winning streak alive.

It was a proper cat-fight when Chaffey challenged Ontario on Monday. Chaffey came out on top against Ontario by a score of 56-43. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 527th, while the Jaguars are ranked 1287th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Chino's strategy against Montclair on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Chino blew Montclair out of the water with an 86-49 final score. The contest marked the Cowboys' most dominant win of the season.

Chino is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.7 points per game. As for Chaffey, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-6.

Chaffey came up short against Chino in their previous matchup on January 10th, falling 54-46. Can Chaffey avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
