Baseball Game Preview: McClave Cardinals vs. Wiley Panthers

For the first time this season, McClave will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Wiley Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

McClave is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against La Veta. McClave blew past La Veta 17-7 on Friday. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Redhawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Cope Meston was incredible, getting on base in all six of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Howe, who scored four runs and stole three bases while going 5-for-6.

McClave always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as La Veta only posted an OBP of .278.

Meanwhile, Wiley and Calhan finished up their matchup with a 4-4 draw on Saturday.
