Preview: Surry Central Golden Eagles vs. Wilkes Central Eagles
The Surry Central Golden Eagles will be playing at home against the Wilkes Central Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Surry Central pushed their score all the way to 36 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were dealt a 72-36 loss at the hands of East Surry. Surry Central was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-7.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Allen Huffman, who rushed for 148 yards and three touchdowns. Tripp Mcmillen was another key contributor, picking up 125 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Wilkes Central fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They enjoyed a cozy 29-14 victory over Forbush on Thursday.
Surry Central has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Wilkes Central, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Things could have been worse for Surry Central, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 50-34 loss to Wilkes Central when the teams last played back in September of 2022. Will Surry Central have more luck at home instead of on the road?
