Basketball Recap: Mountain Empire Takes a Loss

Mountain Empire was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 54-27 loss at the hands of the High Tech NC Raptor. The game marked the Redhawks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Mountain Empire saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Chance Ross posted 11 points.

Mountain Empire's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for High Tech NC, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

While Mountain Empire had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
