Football Recap: Tayshawn Scott and Karryon Phillips Secure Win for Taylorsville + How To Watch

Taylorsville and North Forrest pushed the score to 49-14 the last time they played North Forrest, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Tartars never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 13-0 win. The Tartars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Karryon Phillips and Tayshawn Scott. Phillips rushed for 67 yards and one TD on only eight carries while Scott rushed for 68 yards and one touchdown.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Taylorsville's defense and their five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Ladainian King and Zarian Pittman, who racked up four sacks between them. Another thorn in North Forrest's side was Damarion Booth, who made 14 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Looking ahead, Taylorsville will host Stringer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Red Devils will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Tartars surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Forrest, they will head out on the road to face off against Collins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.8 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
