Volleyball Recap: Washington County Commanders vs. Campbellsville Eagles
Washington County was the 3-2 winner over Campbellsville when they last played one another back in August, but their luck changed this time around. The Commanders fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Monday. While the Commanders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-20 in the first set.
Washington County started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 21-25, 25-13, 25-24, 15-6.
Izzy Medley paced Washington County's offense, picking up 14 kills. Medley got some help from Kate Smith and her 37 assists. Addison Abell controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Washington County's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Campbellsville, their win bumped their record up to 8-16.
Coming up, Washington County is taking a road trip to face off against Bardstown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Campbellsville, they will head out to take on Russell County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
