Basketball Recap: Dexter Comes Up Short

Dexter lost against Puxico back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Dexter Bearcats took a 53-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Puxico Indians. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 169th, while the Indians are ranked 41st).

Dexter's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-9. As for Puxico, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 14-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Dexter Bearcats face off against the Woodland Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Puxico, they will host Bernie at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
