Basketball Recap: Anclote Takes a Loss

Anclote lost against Fivay back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Anclote Sharks were outmatched by the Fivay Falcons and fell 61-33. The Sharks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fivay's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaslene Medina, who went 8 of 15 en route to 18 points and five steals. That's the most points Medina has posted since back in December of 2024. Kaziah Merritt was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Anclote's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Fivay, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Anclote will host East Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fivay, they will welcome Sunlake at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fivay has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 207 points over their last three matchups.
