Softball Recap: Lafayette Takes a Loss

Lafayette was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 29th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 22-0 to the Poquoson Islanders. The Rams were not able to make up for their loss to the Islanders from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Lafayette's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Poquoson, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 8-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lafayette will take on Tabb at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Poquoson, they will head out to face off against Bruton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19.91 runs per game on average), something the Islanders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
