Basketball Recap: Boone Braves vs. Oak Ridge Pioneers
Boone lost against Oak Ridge back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Boone Braves were outmatched by the Oak Ridge Pioneers and fell 99-58. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while the Pioneers are ranked 15th).
Despite the loss, Boone still got an impressive performance from Connor Summer, who went 6 of 10 en route to 14 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Will Cooley, who posted 11 points.
It was another big night for Jalen Reece, who went 12 of 14 on his way to 30 points in addition to seven assists and five steals for Oak Ridge. Reece's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Jackson, who had 12 points and five rebounds.
