Baseball Recap: Shekinah Christian Wins Going Away Against Northside Christian

While Shekinah Christian put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Northside Christian. The Flames put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 10-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Flames in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won four in a row.

Aiden Nofziger and Jayce Yoder made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Nofziger tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Yoder tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Nofziger has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Nofziger went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Yoder got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI. Shekinah Christian is undefeated when Nofziger posts two or more runs, but 1-3 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alex Bauermeister, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Max Kilzer was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Shekinah Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northside Christian only posted an OBP of .250.

The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.44 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
