Football Recap: Arp Skates Past Sabine with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Arp). They blew past the Sabine Cardinals, posting a 61-0 win. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 406th, while the Cardinals are ranked 875th) , the win on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Zane Bourque continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 42 yards and two touchdowns, while also picking up 43 receiving yards and one score. Ty Langley was another key player, rushing for 39 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Arp was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 354 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Arp didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Langley and Wyatt Johnson.

The victory keeps Arp at an undefeated 4-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 47.3 points this season. As for Sabine, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Arp will square off against Troup at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Arp 4.2, Troup 13) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Sabine, they will face off against Tatum at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Cardinals' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
