Preview: Rosamond Roadrunners vs. Taft Wildcats
The Rosamond Roadrunners will head out on the road to face off against the Taft Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Rosamond took a serious blow against Bishop Union, falling 55-28.
Rosamond might have lost, but man, Ty'shawn Flowers was a machine: he threw for 466 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Flowers is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last five games he's played. Chad Curry also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought contest, but Taft had to settle for a 20-17 defeat against Delano on Thursday. Taft has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Taft's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Cameron Cash, who picked up 96 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Blaine Neudorf who rushed for 15 yards and a touchdown.
Rosamond's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Taft, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's match: Rosamond has been excellent in the air this season, having averaged 273.5 passing yards per game. It's a different story for Taft, though, as they've been averaging only 87.7 per game. How will Taft fare against such a dominant passing game?
