Softball Recap: Clarksdale Takes a Loss

Clarksdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 17-1 to the Lafayette Commodores. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Commodores this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 on Thursday.

Clarksdale's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Lafayette, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Looking ahead, Clarksdale will challenge Cleveland Central at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lafayette, they will take on Senatobia at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Lafayette knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Senatobia likes a good challenge.
