Ariton never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past the Abbeville Yellowjackets 16-0. The result was nothing new for the Purple Cats, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Ariton's victory bumped their record up to 9-6-1. As for Abbeville, their defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Ariton and Houston County will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on the 31st. Houston County has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.2 runs per game on average), something Ariton will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Abbeville, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Long at 4:30 p.m. on the 31st.
