Baseball Game Preview: North Canyon Rattlers vs. Youngker Roughriders

For the second straight game, North Canyon will face off against Youngker. The Rattlers will face off against the Roughriders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games North Canyon has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

North Canyon couldn't beat Youngker on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the sixth inning. The Rattlers fell just short of the Roughriders by a score of 7-6.

For Youngker's part, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaac Valencia, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits Valencia has posted since back in March.

The win was the 11th in a row for Youngker, bringing their record up to 15-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for North Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-13.

Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. North Canyon hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. However, it's not like Youngker struggles in that department as they've averaged .320. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
