Basketball Recap: Port Isabel Takes a Loss

Port Isabel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hanna Golden Eagles. If the Tarpons were looking for revenge after losing 35-31 to the Golden Eagles when the teams met back in December of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Port Isabel's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Hanna, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-9.

Looking ahead, Port Isabel and San Benito will face off at 12:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. As for Hanna, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Harlingen South at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
