Windsor and Rancho Cotate are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2017, but not for long. The Jaguars will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Windsor's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Rancho Cotate has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
On Friday, Windsor needed a bit of extra time to put away Vintage. They came out on top against the Crushers by a score of 17-10. Those 17 points were actually the fewest the Jaguars have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Carter Vose lll continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 136 yards and one touchdown, while also punching in one TD on the ground.
Windsor didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Alonzo Leon, Fernando Lopez, and Semere Berhe picked up one apiece.
Meanwhile, Rancho Cotate fell victim to Marin Catholic and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a blow against the Wildcats, falling 27-0. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 249th, while the Wildcats are ranked 86th).
Even if they lost, Rancho Cotate's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Jerrek Buckley, Cassius Chaddock, and Asaeli Tuivomo, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Windsor's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-2. As for Rancho Cotate, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Windsor beat Rancho Cotate 18-6 in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Will the Jaguars repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
