Softball Recap: Maricopa Rams vs. Pueblo Warriors
There's no place like home for Maricopa, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Pueblo Warriors on Thursday, sneaking past 13-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rams have posted since April 4, 2024.
Hailee Klutz - Phillips was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Darian Sophia Flores, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Klutz - Phillips wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Maricopa kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. Maricopa is 5-1-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Maricopa now has a winning record of 7-6-1. As for Pueblo, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maricopa will square off against Pusch Ridge Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on March 27th. As for Pueblo, they will take on Desert View at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
