Basketball Recap: Muncie Burris Comes Up Short

Muncie Burris was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Centerville Bulldogs and fell 62-30. If the Owls were looking for revenge after losing 47-31 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Muncie Burris lost, don't look at Sydney Jackson. Despite the final result, she posted 22 points in addition to eight blocks and seven steals. That was a full 73.3% of Muncie Burris' points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Ja'Maria Jackson was another key player, putting up two points and 13 rebounds.

Muncie Burris' loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Centerville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-11.

Muncie Burris wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 41-29 victory against Liberty Christian on the 24th. Centerville has also already played their next contest, a 62-27 defeat against Tri on the 23rd.
