Football Recap: Dexter Comes Up Short

If Dexter was feeling good fresh off their 57-0 takedown of Kennett last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bearcats and the Central Rebels were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Bearcats suffered a 22-21 loss. The contest marked the Bearcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Will Guethle threw for 141 yards on nine of 17 attempts. Carson Hurt was his top target, picking up 49 receiving yards. On the ground, Devin Turnbo rushed for 136 yards and three touchdowns.

Having lost for the first time this season, Dexter fell to 7-1. As for Central, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Dexter will head out to face off against Scott City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Central, they will venture away from home to challenge Farmington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least 31 points in their last four games.
