Volleyball Recap: Central Takes a Loss

Central lost against Liberty back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Indians lost 3-0 to the Blue Jays. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-11, 25-14.

Greely Simpson paced Central's offense, picking up seven kills. Simpson got some help from Hayden Root and her 19 assists.

Liberty was led to victory by Ella Anderson and Lexi Brasel. Anderson had ten digs and three aces, while Brasel had six digs and four aces. Caitlin Stegall also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Liberty, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season.

Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Smithville on the 20th. As for Liberty, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Blue Valley West on the 20th.
