Volleyball Recap: Blaine Takes a Loss

Blaine and Irondale squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Blaine had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 3-2. The Bengals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Blaine started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 21-25, 20-25, 25-17, 25-14, 15-13.

Irondale's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Wade Vang, who had 33 assists. Vang is crushing it when it comes to assists: he's posted at least 12 every time he's taken the court this season. Enzo Yang was another key player, getting nine digs and two assists.

Blaine has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Irondale, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.

As of now, neither Blaine nor the Knights have any future games scheduled.
