Baseball Recap: Weston-McEwen Comes Up Short

Irrigon hit Weston-McEwen with a eight-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The TigerScots lost 14-4 to the Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-7 last Tuesday.

Weston-McEwen saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tim Taylor, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Weston-McEwen's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Irrigon, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

Coming up, Weston-McEwen will venture away from home to take on Grant Union at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Irrigon, they will challenge Pilot Rock at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rockets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed nine runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
