Football Recap: Sargent Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Sargent had lost four straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-8 to make it five. They had to suffer through a 48-6 loss at the hands of the Mancos Bluejays. The Farmers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bluejays from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

As for Mancos, their win bumped their record up to 6-3. Considering they have won five matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Mancos' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Michael Resner led the charge by rushing for 128 yards and one TD, while also throwing for 45 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Resner got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 83 yards. Another rusher making a difference was Jonah H Ritter, who rushed for 126 yards and three scores on only five carries.

Sargent does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mancos, they will square off against West Grand at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bluejays will need to watch out since the Mustangs have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
