Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Warren Central). They were the clear victors by an 18-5 margin over the Lawrence Central Bears on Tuesday. The Warriors not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 11th (when they won 16-0).

Dylan Thompson and Caden Barney made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Thompson pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Barney didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. At bat, Thompson got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs, while Barney went 2-for-5 with two triples and five RBI. Thompson is becoming a predictor of Warren Central's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-14-1 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Keith Jackson, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with six stolen bases and three runs. He has become a key player for Warren Central: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-14-1 otherwise. Manny Romo was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Warren Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April.

Warren Central's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-14-1. As for Lawrence Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
