Recap: Langston Hughes Panthers vs. East Paulding Raiders
The Langston Hughes Panthers stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. Everything went their way against East Paulding as Langston Hughes made off with a 63-40 win. Given Langston Hughes' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while East Paulding is ranked 388th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
McKayla Taylor continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 18 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Taylor Harris, who scored eight points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Langston Hughes pushed their record up to 14-3 with that victory, which was their 17th straight at home. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 32.88 points. As for East Paulding, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.
Langston Hughes and South Paulding will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. South Paulding will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for East Paulding, East Paulding and Paulding County will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Paulding County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Saturday.
