Soccer Game Preview: St. Anne-Pacelli vs. Auburn

The St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings will square off against the Auburn Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

St. Anne-Pacelli managed to keep up with Northgate until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. St. Anne-Pacelli came up short against Northgate, falling 4-1. St. Anne-Pacelli has struggled against Northgate recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

St. Anne-Pacelli's goal came courtesy of Wynn Ward, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Auburn was forced to settle for a draw. Neither they nor Vestavia Hills could gain the upper hand on Friday so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

St. Anne-Pacelli's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. Auburn's draw gives them a new season record of 1-1-1.
