Baseball Game Preview: Anderson Titans vs. Woodhaven Warriors

Anderson is 2-8 against Woodhaven since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Titans will square off against the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Anderson's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Woodhaven's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Wednesday, Anderson came up short against Allen Park and fell 9-4. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Woodhaven got themselves on the board against Trenton on Wednesday, but Trenton never followed suit. They came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 4-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

The result came thanks to Kaden Newsted's shutout, as he gave up just a hit. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cameron Thorning, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Tristan Spencer, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Anderson's loss dropped their record down to 18-8. As for Woodhaven, their win bumped their record up to 23-8.

Anderson skirted past Woodhaven 6-5 in their previous matchup back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
