Basketball Game Preview: San Luis Sidewinders vs. North Canyon Rattlers

The San Luis Sidewinders will venture away from home to take on the North Canyon Rattlers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. San Luis is looking for their season's first victory.

San Luis is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took a 62-47 bruising from Walden Grove on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Sidewinders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 324th, while the Red Wolves are ranked 148th).

Meanwhile, North Canyon posted their biggest win since February 1, 2024 on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 81-50 victory over Youngker. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Rattlers as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

San Luis' defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for North Canyon, their victory bumped their record up to 3-10.

San Luis took a serious blow against North Canyon when the teams last played back in November of 2017, falling 63-31. Can San Luis avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
