Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sumter). They breezed by the Spring Valley Vikings on the road to the tune of 56-7 on Friday. Considering the Gamecocks have won three contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Kameron Fortune was his usual excellent self, rushing for 270 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 carries. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 109.4 rushing yards per game. Christopher Bentley also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.

Sumter wouldn't let Spring Valley keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force four fumbles. Anthony Addison led the group effort, picking up two of those forced fumbles all by himself. Jb Burson is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least eight every time he's taken the field this season.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Sumter was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 358 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

The victory for Sumter keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. As for Spring Valley, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Sumter will face off against Lugoff-Elgin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sumter will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak dating back to last season alive. As for Spring Valley, they will take on Blythewood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Blythewood's defense has only allowed 8.2 points per game this season, so Spring Valley's offense will have their work cut out for them.
