Softball Game Preview: Lakeland Thunderbirds vs. Mosinee Indians

Lakeland is 1-9 against Mosinee since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Thunderbirds will face off against the Indians at 5:00 p.m. Mosinee took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Lakeland, who comes in off a win.

Lakeland came out on top against Waupaca on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Thunderbirds walked away with an 11-6 victory over the Comets. The win was nothing new for the Thunderbirds as they're now sitting on three straight.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Mosinee's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Antigo by a score of 4-3. Indians fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Red Robins since on Thursday.

Lakeland's victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Mosinee, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 13-4.

Lakeland came up short against Mosinee in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 4-1. Can the Thunderbirds avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
