Volleyball Game Preview: La Sierra Eagles vs. Rancho Verde Mustangs

La Sierra is a perfect 4-0 against Rancho Verde since August of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Eagles will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

La Sierra is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They fell 3-1 to Aquinas on Tuesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it eight in a row.

La Sierra started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-8, 25-22, 25-11.

Meanwhile, Rancho Verde didn't have quite enough to beat San Jacinto on Saturday and fell 1-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Everything went La Sierra's way against Rancho Verde in their previous meeting back in September of 2021, as La Sierra made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
