Softball Recap: Palm Beach Central Gets the Win

Palm Beach Central had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 17-run drubbing they dealt Forest Hill on Wednesday. The Palm Beach Central Broncos' pitcher stepped up to hand the Forest Hill Falcons a 17-0 shutout. The Broncos have beaten the Falcons the last eight times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Falcons has come to flipping the script.

Kacie Riggan made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Riggan was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sara Spidalieri, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Isis Sousa, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Palm Beach Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Forest Hill only posted an OBP of .000.
