Baseball Recap: Cesar Chavez Comes Up Short

Cesar Chavez fell victim to Tucson High Magnet School and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Badgers. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Champions' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Cesar Chavez saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Garcia, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Cesar Chavez's loss dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Tucson High Magnet School, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cesar Chavez will venture away from home to challenge Marana at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Champions are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Tucson High Magnet School, they will head out on the road to face off against Walden Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Red Wolves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.61 runs per game on average), something the Badgers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
