Preview: Centerville Tigers vs. Normangee Panthers
The Centerville Tigers will be playing at home against the Normangee Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Centerville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 153 points over their last three contests.
Centerville can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 56-7 victory over Leon. With Centerville ahead 28-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Andrew Newman went supernova for Centerville, rushing for 200 yards and four touchdowns on only six carries. Newman was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards. Colton Pearson was another key contributor, rushing for 78 yards and a touchdown.
Centerville's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB eight times. The heavy lifting was done by Zantayl Holley and Amarius Phillips who racked up six sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Normangee was beaten by Groveton 56-19 on Friday.
Centerville's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 43.67 points. As for Normangee, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
Everything came up roses for Centerville against Normangee in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 56-0 victory. Will Centerville repeat their success, or does Normangee have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
