Softball Game Preview: S & S Consolidated Rams vs. Coahoma Bulldogs

For the second straight game, S & S Consolidated will face off against Coahoma. The Rams will venture away from home to square off against the Bulldogs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (S & S Consolidated 1.1, Coahoma 0.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

S & S Consolidated heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Friday. They fell just short of Coahoma by a score of 2-0. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Rams' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For Coahoma's part, Hannah Wells made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Wells has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Wells wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Bree Lewis, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

The victory keeps Coahoma at an undefeated 33-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 10.2 runs thus far. As for S & S Consolidated, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 26-2.
