Basketball Game Preview: Shenandoah Zeps vs. Paden City Wildcats

The Shenandoah Zeps will take on the Paden City Wildcats in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Shenandoah is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.5 points per game this season.

On Saturday, the stars were shining brightly for Shenandoah in a 62-43 victory over Linsly. The win was all the more spectacular given the Zeps' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 309th in Ohio, while the Cadets are ranked 18th in West Virginia).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Shenandoah to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brenna Leach, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Leach's morning made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Emily Moore was another key player, putting up 18 points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Paden City played a tough matchup on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 88-14 loss at the hands of Tyler. The game marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Shenandoah pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for Paden City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.
